Government formed committee to make PG Medical Education free

Government of Nepal is making the Post Graduate Medical Education from Public Universities of Nepal free.

According to Nagariknews, Government of Nepal will offer free PG Medical Education from  its three public Universities/universities like organization namely Institute of Medicine Maharajgunj Medical Campus, National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) and BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKHIS) Dharan. 

To implement this decision, a committee has been formed which will submit a report regarding the modality.  Dr. Padam Kumar Chanda Senior specialist of Ministry of Health is the coordinator of the committee. Other members of the committee are: Dr. Gunraj lohani, Mahendra Shrestha, Dr. Jagdish Prasad Agrawal etc.

Those PG students must work in the place designated by government of Nepal for a period of 2/3 years.

Government of Nepal will give the grant to universities which are offering MD, MS, MCH, DM Programs. Those institution are free to take the fees from the international students as per the guidelines but are not allowed to decrease the seats for Nepali students.  Now 120 students are studying MD/MS in IOM, 120 in BPKIHS and 127 in NAMS.
