The Tribhuvan University has decided to hold Free Students Union (FSU) polls on May 27, 2013.

Tribhuvan University has been failing to hold FSU polls since 2065 B.S due to various reasons.

A meeting of Tribhuvan University held on Saturday made such decision. According to Tribhuvan University Rector Gunnidhi Neupane, the meeting held on Friday paved the way to hold election in mixed procedure. According to the mixed system the representative will be selected by:

  1. Mixed electoral system for the poll while the president, secretary and treasurer of the FSU committee would be elected through First-Past-The-Post (FTPT) system.
  2. Vice president and joint secretary would also be selected through proportional representation (PR) system.
  3. 50%  members in Free Student Union would be elected through FPTP and the rest through proportional representation (PR) system.
