This is to highlight the current higher medical education in Nepal. Master’s level medical (postgraduate) entrance examinations were held by Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine on May 25 and the results have also come out.
But some Tribhuvan University affiliated colleges have started bargaining for ‘donation’. For radiology, they are demanding more than Rs. 80 lakh, and for orthopaedics they are asking for Rs. 70 lakh.
There has been a 50 per cent to 100 per cent fee hike compared to last year. There is no uniformity in fee structures. This must be stopped urgently.
