Vice Chancellor of Purbanchal University (PU) Shishir Rijal said on Saturday that the new leadership of the
university has taken drastic measures to reform the institution that was
pushed into crisis by chronic corruption.
He said the new team under his leadership will enforce strict measures to salvage the university´s reputation.
"At present, a competent team is already very hard at work to reform and restructure everything that had gone wrong in the past," said Rijal at a function organized by Kantipur City College (KCC) on Saturday. "The university is already improving and you will see results very soon."
He said that immediately after he was appointed as the VC of the university, he moved to end all kinds of irregularities that had taken root at the university.
"We have set an academic calendar which will be strictly followed, and examinations and results will not be delayed at any cost," he said before a gathering of academicians, teachers and students.
The embattled university appointed new VC and other senior officials after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed cases against the university´s erstwhile VC, registrar, deans, and exam controller, among other senior officials, earlier this year accusing them of engaging in corruption.
