Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended his best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters at home and abroad on the Constitution Day today. On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba wished that the Day would inspire all of us to move ahead to the path of national unity and prosperity being conscious to the rights and responsibilities. In a message of best wishes delivered today, he noted that the Constitution of Nepal is the best across the globe from the perspective of democratic values, inclusion and civil liberties.
The Constitution has possessed the salient features of federalism, separation of powers, checks and balances, periodic elections, human rights, participatory political system, independent judiciary, respect to UN charters and orientation to socialism, the PM noted. In the message, he further stressed the need to gradually enable the democratic institutions envisioned by the Constitution for its successful implementation.
The Prime Minister added that the country would usher into a new era of political stability and economic development following the accomplishment of all three tiers of local, provincial and federal elections. The Constitution is a live and dynamic political document, he said, adding it requires good political culture, civic education and well governance to make the national charter live. PM Deuba went on noting that the country could reach to the important destination as envisaged by the Constitution only when the poverty, inequality, illiteracy and conflicts prevailing in the society are adequately addressed. He also called for support from all sides to put concerted efforts to achieve the constitutional objectives for the greater good the country.

The President has further stated that these elections would set up further structures to strengthen and reform the constitutional and legal mechanisms. She further has expected that the constitution day has ensured building the base for democratic republic, prosperous, peaceful and beautiful nation.
Stating that the federal democratic republican constitution has envisioned the goal of building socialism-oriented economy based on social justice, President Bhandari has stressed on modernization of agriculture, tourism development, environmental conservation, infrastructure development, establishment of modern industries and employment promotion. Likewise, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has termed the constitution promulgation day a golden one, which institutionalized the achievements of People's Movement, armed struggles, People's War and historical People's Movement of 2062/062 BS and has expressed greetings to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad.
In a message today, Vice President Pun stated that the major part of constitution's implementation i.e elections to the local levels was held and the dates for the Province Level and State Assemblies have been announced. He has also congratulated all the voters of Province No. 2 for using their sovereign franchise in an encouraging manner ahead of the Constitution Day as a celebration by taking part in the polls. The Vice President has also urged the citizens to use their sovereign franchise in an encouraging manner in the upcoming Province Level and State Assemblies polls like that of the local polls. In his message, Vice President Pun has expressed his confidence that the country would move ahead in the path of economic prosperity by fully ending the political transition with the full implementation of the constitution.
