A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), raided the office of Pokhara University in the suspicion of misusing money in the name of constructing building for University.

University is also accused of giving unnecessary affiliation to colleges.

A five member team led by Investigation Officer Narayan Prasad Adhikari followed by Police officers and Engineers of bureau is investigating all the required documents since 5 days and has taken all the other documents under their control.

CIAA raided the office and took its documents under control as the university is reportedly charged of irregularities.

“Investigation is in the initial stage, we will take a strong action if any misleading activities are done by the PU” said Sitakumari Khatiwoda, regional officer of CIAA.

Rather than taking the work of the university to the different level, which was built 18 years ago, officials there are giving affiliation to many colleges gratuitously. PU has recently given affiliation for 9 colleges.

Out of 100, 90% of colleges which are given affiliation are from Kathmandu valley, which is against the law formulated for the university.

In the same way university is blamed for not completing construction activities in time where government have invested 8 crore.

Instead of taking an action against the constructor who did not completed work in time, university again gave the tender to the same constructer.
