Australia -based Deakin University announced scholarships for Nepali students

Australia -based Deakin University  has announced a scholarship that will be awarded annually to two Nepali students to study undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Under the Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Scholarship programme, two students will receive 50 percent tuition waiver at Deakin, said Ravneet Pawha, the university’s regional director for South Asia. The scholarship candidates will be picked based on their academic performance and interviews.

Deakin currently has 50 Nepali students and it expects to see an increase in the number of students from Nepal in the coming years. Australia n Ambassador to Nepal Glenn White said the Deakin scholarship would help strengthen the relations of Nepal and Australia .

He also informed that Australia has started Colombo Plan under which Australia n students will be sent to countries like Nepal to study.  Australia is one of the most sought-after academic destinations for Nepali students.
