Stakeholders today reiterated that the demands of temporary teachers should be ful-filled as soon as possible. Speaking at a programme organised here today, Nepali Congress lawmaker Ram Krishna Yadav said the demands of temporary teachers should be fulfilled. He said his party also held an extensive discussion on the genuine demands of temporary teachers.
"Despite all the political changes in the country, the problems of temporary teachers still remain. But our party will take the initiative to re-solve them," he said. Lal Bahadur BC, president of All Nepal Teachers Organisation, said his organisation
He said, "All temporary teachers should be given permanent status through internal competition." Baburam Thapa, president of Nepal National Teachers Association, said agreements signed with the teachers in should be implemented. Nirendra Kunwar, president of Temporary Teachers Struggle Central Committee, said temporary teachers who've worked for at least six years should be given the opportunity to fight for permanent status.
"There should be internal competition between all temporary teachers, who have worked for at least six years." He said that those who don't pass the internal competition be provided with gratuity and medical benefits as per the re-port of the committee formed.
