Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences

Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences was established in 2021 as a state hold autonomous entity of Province 2 under the 'Madhesh Institute of Health Science Act 2077'.  Dr. Ram Kewal Sah, Professor of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery Is the Vice-Chancellor of Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences.

As per the 'Madhesh Institute of Health Science Act 2077', The institute is formed up of the following organizations:

1. Board of directors
2. Organizational committee 
3. Academic council
4. Faculty
5. Research center
6. Academic institution
7. Medical college
8. Other functional bodies as specified

 

Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences envisions timely and appropriate health care that is accessible to everyone in the province. The institute has been established with the mission to reduce suffering, disability, and poverty in Province -2 by enhancing specialized health care, research, and education.

With a broad objective of creating a sustainable local capacity for the specialized health care of the people, the Institute also seeks to offer postgraduate education facility as early as possible at Provincial Hospital as well as upgrade and transform the Provincial hospital. The health institute is established with an aim to facilitate undergraduate teaching in Medical, Dental, and Nursing faculties. One of its long-term plans includes acquiring land in order to establish a 700-bed, well-equipped teaching hospital with all the necessary infrastructure.

The provincial government believes the appointment of qualified, competent, and competitive professionals will help revolutionize healthcare in the province.
