Since 1995, WWF Nepal has had the privilege of highlighting Nepali grassroots conservationists with the Abraham Conservation Award in Recognition of their Significant and outstanding contributions to save nature. As the global conservation organization, we wish to highlight the invaluable role played by individuals and organizations that deliver conservation results with passion, perservance, and optimism. Their work should be based on credibility and accountability, benefiting both people and nature. The recipients of this award are a shining example to Nepalese to rise to the conservation challenge so WWF wish to honour grassroots initiatives that have made a positive impact on our forests, helped save our wildlife, inspired change through word and deed, promoted sustainable livelihoods linked to conservation, combated climate change, conserved our natural resources, or supported action for a lasting change.
The recipients of the Abraham Conservation Award are selected by an impartial, independent selection committee. Awardees receive a certificate and a cash prize: NRs 25,000 for individuals and NRs 50,000 for organizations.
