Invitation of Research Proposalfor Faculty Research Grants
University Grants Commission (UGC), Nepal under the SHEP Research Funding Program, invites research propsals together with duly filled-in gnant application forms ftom eligible faculties for Faafiy Researfi Grants Award
20692070. In order to nationalize existing scar@ resources available for funding research activities, thematic prcference has, however, been given to the priority sector identified by the National Interim Plan and the Millennium Development Goal.
Interested faculties fulfilling he following requirements may apply forthe Research Grants:

The Principal Researcher/Team Leader must be a full time faculty member of a university or an organization affiliated to a university of Nepal such as central departments, campuses, research, centres, faculties or institutes,

The Principal Researcher should possess high level of academic excellence.

There should be provision for the involvement of at least one additional faculty member and one young graduate in the research team.

Representation of women , dalits and the membens of other disadvantaged gmups in fie research team is an important indicator for selection.
Oher Provisions and Requirements:

Allthe researchers must be Nepali citizens.

UGC Board members, members of Research Council, Evaluation Committee, Cluster Committee and UGC employees are not eligible to apply.

A person who is currently getting fellowships/ research grant from UGC is not eligible to apply.

A researcher should be involved in one and only one proposal.

In case of dispute, final decision will be made by UGC Research Council.
Funding and Duration:
. The maximum amount of Faculty Research Gnants is Rs. 2, 00,000 (two hundred thousand rupees) based on the proposal. The study must be completed within 1-1.5 years.
Documents to be submitted:

An application form must be submitted in UGC format awilable from Research Division or on UGC website with payment of Rs. 500 (Five hundred Rupees only).

Three copies of research propsals in APA format along with a CD copy.

The proposal will underyo blind review for evaluation. The name of the researchers and he institution should not appear in the proposal. Any default will be disqualified.

The application along wih the detailed proposal must reach UGC by September 10,2012 (25 Bhadra, 2069).

Delay caused by postal service or other mode of delivery will not be entertained.
