Meet and teach, empower each other
The WSYA Winners Events is orchestrated as a four day experience with workshops, presentations and exhibitions to bring together winners, partners,
board members, business leaders and experts from all over the world.
The highlight will be the Winners' Ceremony on November 12th to honour a group of young multimedia professionals, who – through their highly motivated and creative work – contribute significantly to the development of a quality information society and therefore to reaching the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Eighteen winning teams in six categories will be presented and receive their certificate and trophy from dignitaries of government, the private sector, and the United Nations.
Many more exciting events surround the Winners' Ceremony and give the winners the opportunity to get to know each other, to network, to find sponsors and to celebrate their creative and innovative work!
About the Venue of the Festival
Graz is the second-largest city in Austria after Vienna and the capital of the federal state of Styria. In 2010, the city had a population of about 300,000. Graz has a long tradition as a university city: its six universities have more than 44,000 students. Its “Old Town” is one of the best-preserved city centres in Central Europe. In 1999, Graz was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites and became Cultural Capital of Europe in 2003. In 2001 Graz became City of Human Rights and committed itself to the UN Human Rights Declaration in all its decisions. In 2006 Graz joined the European City Coalition against Racism, initiated by the UNESCO, and in 2007 the "Cities for Chilren". On 14 March 2011 the Director-General of UNESCO in Paris, Ms Irina Bokova, officially announced the inclusion of Graz into the international network of creative cities.
