The Second International Conference on Medical Materials, Devices and Regenerative Medicine (MMDRM) -2014 is to be held in Nepal from January 11 to 13, 2014.
The conference is to be organized by the College of Biomedical Engineering and Applied Sciences of Kathmandu, with joint co work of Society of Biomaterials and Applied Sciences and the Society of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine of India.
Commitment for participation and presentation of working papers has been received from senior scientists and doctors from USA, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Australian, Japan and India, said the College of Biomedical Engineering and Applied Science.
The conference is to focus on the new studies and inventions of equipments to be used in the medical field as well as various items and artificial organs to be used in human body, and research papers will be presented on organs and tissues related to be developed through cells taken out from bodies of the patient himself.
The main objective of the conference is to provide forum for necessary discussion for promotion of studies and researches in the sectors of bio medical objects, tissue engineering and medical equipments.
It is learnt that graduates of the college affiliated with the Purbanchal University have got opportunities for studies in doctorate and postgraduate levels in various countries.
In the International Conference Organizing Committee, whose patron is Purbanchal University VC Prof. Mahesworman Shrestha, the advisors are VC of NAST Prof. Dr. Surendraraj Kafle, Nepal Academy of Medical Science VC Prof. Dr. Damodar Pokhrel, University Grant Commission Chairman Prof. Dr. Ganesh Man Gurung and College Principal Vishwa P. Shrivastava is the convener.
In the conference, information will be given on studies, researches, and inventions made in the world at present to NepalĀ“s scientists, bio-medical engineers and doctors. The first such international conference was also held in November, 2008 in Kathmandu
