The Idea League: A reality show based on idea competition to nurture ideas into reality

We have seen national football and cricket leagues. We have seen a number of reality shows on singing, dancing and comedy competitions. So, we thought why not a National Idea League and a reality show based on that. The league will be run like how the football league is run, from root level to national level, and a television (and internet) program will be run to show the competition. The business model will be as shown in the diagram.

The basic business model will be similar to the one adopted by Indian Premier league. The business persons, investors and Banks can own their franchises (teams) and can get the players(innovators) from schools colleges and universities. The players can also be auctioned. The team will submit a proposal and start working in an idea which has direct impact in the community. A group of jury members will be selected from business persons to professors. The jury will judge the team continuously and a winner will be decided, which will get the prize money to start and grow the innovation they have done. The participants can be any Nepalese citizen residing inside Nepal or abroad. We can use video conferencing technique to cover people residing abroad. There will be auditions and the selected few ideas will be incubated for around 6 months where the teams need to work on their idea. At the end of such incubation period the teams will be judged on the basis of their work and the winner will get prize money.
This program can be started as a working area of Kalpashala. The television program will be made interesting by adding various features to the program just like other reality shows. The idea is at a very raw stage and we are working to develop its structure and operation model.
