Tribhuvan University, under its Faculty of Education, has launched the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGD Education) program. This initiative is structured into three semesters, aiming to provide students with a comprehensive and well-organized educational experience.

The PGD Education Program at Tribhuvan University is crafted to equip aspiring educators with the necessary skills for teaching in Nepal. 

Educators, as professional practitioners, demand expertise in subject matter, pedagogical knowledge, and the competence to apply specific skills in diverse teaching contexts.

The PGD Education course, aims to familiarize students with foundational education concepts, innovative teaching methods, the intersection of school and society, educational and social policies, and educational philosophy. Additionally, it imparts knowledge about the evolution of education in Nepal, key recommendations from education commissions, and the role of programs in shaping Nepal's education system.

This program primarily emphasizes pedagogical knowledge and methodological skills essential for teaching specific subjects at the secondary level.

Salient Features

General Objectives

  • To offer students a comprehensive and expanded comprehension of the core principles of education and teaching.
    To furnish students with thorough knowledge encompassing various philosophical schools.
    To cultivate an awareness of the sociological underpinnings of education among students.
    To familiarize students with the evolution of education in Nepal.
    To acquaint students with the contributions of various education commissions, plans, and programs to the advancement of education in Nepal.

Eligibility

Science Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc., B.Sc. Ag, B.Sc. Forestry) or an equivalent qualification.

Mathematics Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (B.A., B.Sc., or equivalent).

English Education

  • Bachelor's degree in English or an equivalent qualification.

Nepali Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nepali or an equivalent qualification.

Educational Administration and Supervision Education

  • Bachelor's degree in any subject or an equivalent qualification.

Information and Communication Technology Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Bachelor in Computer Application, or an equivalent qualification.

Economics Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Management, or an equivalent qualification.

Social Studies Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or an equivalent qualification.

History Education

  • Bachelor's degree in History or an equivalent qualification.

Geography Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Population, or an equivalent qualification.

Political Science Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science or an equivalent qualification.

Population Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Population Studies, Geography, or an equivalent qualification.

Health and Physical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Sport Science, or any subject with training/experience in sports, or an equivalent qualification.

Inclusive Education

  • Bachelor's degree in any subject or an equivalent qualification.
