The course deals with the origin of Buddhism in Nepal and its continuation through different historical periods. This course is divided into four semesters and is designed to provide students the knowledge of Buddhism in Nepal. The course deals with sources for studying history, the evolution of Buddhism, a short biography of the Buddha, the formation of different Buddhist sects, the evolution of Mahāyāna and Vajrayāna. This paper is divided into six parts and designed to provide students, the knowledge on the history of Buddhism from the time of the advent of Buddha.

Course objective
The objective of the course is to familiarize students with a general history of Buddhism.
