International School of Tourism and Hotel Management (IST College), affiliated to Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Austria, has been established in 2003 AD with a view of producing world-class human resource to provide to the overwhelming need of the hospitality industries by offering various academic degrees and training packages as per international standard.

IST College aims at developing practical, managerial and communication skills and provides each individual student with the know-how for a successful career in hospitality industry. It is a center for excellence in hospitality education, providing an enterprising and stimulating environment in which students can learn and develop their full potential. The structure of the academic program achieves this by combining management theory with practical experiences, which will ensure an international approach to teaching.

IST College offers customized and fast track programs to provide students maximum flexibility and opportunity for progression. The successful candidates of Diploma Program can also pursue their Higher Diploma in Hotel Management and top-up to Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nepal, Austria, Australia, UK & USA. IST has also managed some hospitality outlets such as restaurants, hotels, Management workshop, clubs and events. The students will have access to these opportunities to develop their practical exposures.

During the 13 years of its operation IST has been able to establish itself as a quality education provider in Nepal. Scholarships

Internship opportunities

IST provides an opportunity for a 12 month internship in China, 12 months in Dubai, 6 months in Malaysia and 6 months in India respectively. Currently, One Hundred Thirty Five (135) students are undergoing internship in China, Twenty eight (28) in Dubai (UAE), Twenty Five (25) students are doing their internship in Malaysia and five (5)in India in various five star hotels.

Few of the students are also doing internship in Nepal. In this connection, IST will provide different international internship opportunities in new tourist destinations in the days to come.

Eligibility requirements for enrollment in programs of IST College:

FHS Diploma in Hotel Management (Bachelor level)

Students who have successfully completed a High School Diploma, PCL, 'A' Level or equivalent are eligible to enroll into this program.

Intermediate Diploma in Hotel Management (+2 level)

Students who have successfully completed a School Leaving Certificate (SLC), ‘O’ Level or equivalent are eligible to enroll into this program.

Students have to undergo a three step process to fulfill the admission criteria:

  • Firstly-selected students have to sit for a written examination and psychometric test.
  • Second- they have to participate in a group discussion where a topic will be given by the invigilator.
  • Lastly- the selected students will have to go through a one on one personal interview.

Our students upon completion of the FHS Diploma in Hotel Management degree (Bachelors Level) with us are groomed and competitive to join the industry in a supervisor or executive level not only in Nepal but also in abroad.
