  • Kathmandu Model College (KMC) established in 2000 right in the heart of the capital city -Kamaladi. A research institute called Kathmandu Model Research Foundation (KMRF) established by the college in 2008 AD continues to encourage value-based research culture among students and teachers.

    Kathmandu Model College continues to be a top ranking college in the private sector with excellent scores in BBA, BBS and BA programs. It is gratifying to note that one students of this college has become a Tribhuvan University topper this year with aggregate 75% marks in MA English.

    Kathmandu Model College started, from the academic session in 2010, MBS (Master’s in Business Studies) programme with the objective of which is to impart quality education in Management.

    The Mission of Kathmandu Model College is to provide our students, at an affordable cost, with quality education through such academic programmes that will not only help them carve out for themselves careers of their choice but will also liberalise and broaden their attitude and outlook on life.

    Facilities in Kathmandu Model College

    COMPUTER LAB

    Kathmandu Model College is well equipped with the state of art technology. It has a well managed computer lab with 30 desk top computers. It is also equipped with multimedia facilities with two power point projectors and two laptops for class room teaching. We have been using the facility of multimedia in our classroom teaching. 24 hour-internet facility is available for students and faculties.

    LIBRARY

    Kathmandu Model College has a very sound library facility. The text book section of the library is quite rich to serve the demand of the ever increasing number of students. Reference section of the library is equally strong with the availability of widely referred books in the field of management. However, at this stage the books on hotel management are limited but they will be added as required once we run the program. The availability of selected journals, study reports, audio video CDs and other reference materials have added value in our library and documentation centre.

    POWER BACKUP

    To overcome the problem of power shortage in our class room teaching and, more particularly, in computer lab Kathmandu Model College has recently installed a 10 KVA generator which provides uninterrupted power supply.

    HOSTEL

    Kathmandu Model College has extended hostel facilities to both the male and female students from outside the valley. The hostel lies adjacent to the college.

    CANTEEN

    Kathmandu Model College canteen serves healthy and hygienic food and beverage at reasonable price throughout the day.

    SPORTS

    Kathmandu Model College arranges various games including Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Football, and Cricket.

    Achievements of Kathmandu Model College

    1. achieved outstanding results in all streams of Science, Management and Humanities and Social Sciences (up to 100%) to date
    2. maintained a congenial ideal environment for learning and achieving the best
    3. been recognized as an institution with a difference in maintaining discipline and academic standard for the last eleven years.
    4. succeeded in gaining recognition both at national and international levels.
    5. produced students capable of winning places at IOM, IOE, MOE and other reputed institutions at home and prestigious universities in countries like USA, UK, Australia and Japan.
    6. found 100% job placement for the BBA pass out, mostly in prestigious banks such as: Bank of Asia, Laxmi Bank Ltd., NIC Bank Ltd., Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd., NMB Bank etc.
    7. acquired 100% job placement for the MA (English) graduates in prestigious colleges.
    8. encouraged and promoted the development of research culture as represented by its institute (Kathmandu Model Research Foundation) established in 2008. The programme of this institute is in time with the research based studies in the college.
    9. taken pride in its BBA student who stood first with Distinction by securing 3.89 CGPA in the BBA examination held by TU in 2008 and received a Gold Medal at the 35th TU Convocation.
    10. noted with satisfaction the outstanding performance of a TU topper of this college with aggregate 75% marks in MA English this year.
    11. been able to introduce each year a new academic programme, one more addition to the programmes successfully run over the years (planning to launch MSW(Master’s Degree in Social Work) programme.
    12. achieved progress not only in the education sector but also in the finance sector such as the launching of cooperative for the benefit of the entire college family.

    SCHOLARSHIP

    Limited numbers of scholarship are available for deserving candidates, whose performance during previous year/semester meets the eligibility criteria. Scholarship will be granted on the basis of a student's result and his/her economic status and overall evaluation.
