Himalaya College of Engineering (HCOE) is affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU). With an aim to provide quality education in engineering and produce qualified engineering graduates the college was establishedin 2000 AD. Himalaya College of Engineering has been conducting BE programmes of Institute of Engineering (IOE), TU in Computer, Electronics and Communication, and Civil Engineering. From this year, Bachelor of Architecture programme has also been launched. It has been run by a strong team of professionals and academics who possess sufficient experience in managing large educational networks for a long time. The College has been associated with Kathmandu Model College (KMC) since May 2007. 

Himalaya College of Engineering which has maintained all its academic programmes as per the standard laid down by IOE, assures quality education required for the students in the present context, and assists them in pursuing their professional and educational goals. So, the BE graduates of this college are professionally competent in communication and information technology. As BE Civil has been introduced since 2008, the College believes that the civil engineering students also will turn out to be an asset for the country in engineering. One of our students, Mr. Pratap Sapkota, obtained the highest percentage (87.7 %) in 3rd year, 1st semester of BE Computer in IOE exam, 2065.

Himalaya College of Engineering has six buildings covering an area of three and a half Ropanis at Shankhamul. A six storey building in one and a half ropani area has been rented at Buddhanagar near Shankhamul. 1. Himalaya College of Engineering (HCOE) awards full-scholarship as IOE Scholarship to 10 percent students of total enrolment in all the programmes throughout all semesters.
2. Himalaya College of Engineering (HCOE) also provides partial scholarships to a few meritorious and intelligent students.
3. Besides, the student scoring the highest marks in a semester is awarded semester topper scholarship which includes 50 percent of a semester’s tuition fee. 
4. The student scoring the highest marks among all the students in a semester in IOE is awarded semester topper in a semester in IOE is awarded semester topper scholarship which includes 100 percent of the respective semester's tuition fee.
