A group of students vandalized the Eastern College of Engineering in Biratnagar Tuesday after another group of students unlocked the padlocked doors of the principal´s office. The students, who had padlocked the principal´s office on Monday demanding security, went berserk upon learning about the removal of the padlocks.
Those who had padlocked the office said they did so in protest as they were unable to submit their second semester back paper examination forms. "We were attending lecture in our classroom and all of a sudden we heard noise of smashing of windowpanes. A group of 10-12 people were carrying out vandalism on the college premises," said a student.
The college library; the office of Harikumar Dev, Civil Head of Department; and Kamleshwar Thakur´s office were completely ransacked.
