The chance exam of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) Exam 2068 began today across the country. Examinees who had failed in maximum two subjects in the SLC exam conducted in March attended the exam.Ambika Prasad Regmi, deputy controller of examination said that altogether 124,000 students appeared in the exam today.
The chance exam will end on August 8. Students today sat for the compulsory English exam. According to the Office of Controller of Examinations (OCE), the exam was conducted peacefully across the country except for a few incidents.
He said that the highest number of students had failed in Mathematics and English. “A total of 62,000 examinees have failed in Mathematics and 32,000 have failed in English.”
He said 240 exam centres had been fixed across the country to conduct the examinations. Meanwhile, the OCE is yet to publish the result of a few students who had applied for retotalling when they were not satisfied with the marks they obtained in the SLC exam.
Regmi said, “We have already published the result of those students who need to sit for chance exam while the result of a few others who don’t have to sit for chance exam are yet to be published.” He said that they would be publishing the result of retotalling of around a dozen students very soon.
Baikuntha Aryal, Kathmandu District Education Officer today said that two students were expelled from two exam centres in Kathmandu for cheating.
