1. EDUCATION OFFICER
Major Responsibilities
•Encourage and support partnerships between UK and Nepali educational institutions.
•Deliver the Education Promotion programme on a cost recovery basis.
•Engage and promote UK expertise in education to improve educational standards and achievements in Nepal.
•Support projects to improve the quality of English language learning and teaching in Nepal.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
•Excellent partnership building / relationship management skills.
•Knowledge of the education system in the UK, especially higher education opportunities relevant to Nepalese students.
•Knowledge of the education system in Nepal.
•Proven project management experience, preferably in the field of Education.
•Negotiating and contracting skills with partners and clients.
•Financial management at the project level
•Excellent written and spoken English for internal and external communication.
Minimum qualification: Bachelors degree in any field; Masters / Education qualification preferred.
2. FINANCE OFFICER
Major responsibilities
•Undertaking all day-to-day financial procedures. Raising Purchase Orders, scanning invoices for central processing, making payments, managing and monitoring payment processes.
•Preparing the monthly payroll, cash flow forecast and financial control report.
•Calculating monthly withholding taxes and reporting to the Nepali authorities.
•Contributing to financial planning and entering relevant data on our system
•Planning, monitoring and reporting on local staff costs.
•Liaison with suppliers on financial issues
•Preparation of all monthly and end of year financial returns required by HQ
Skills, knowledge and experience required
•Ability to manage routine but complex processes to a very high degree of accuracy.
•Good knowledge of MS Office, with extensive experience of using Excel for monitoring and analytical purposes.
•Good accounting knowledge, including knowledge of Nepalese accounting practice.
•Excellent written and spoken English for internal and external communication.
•The ability to present financial data clearly so that it can be easily understood by non-professionals.
Minimum qualification: Degree level qualification in a numerate subject with at least two years of relevant experience. Accounting qualification desirable.
