The All Nepal National Independent Students' Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) has announced to organise 'citizen felicitation' to the community schools for securing the best results in the School Leave Certificate (SLC) examinations every year.
A meeting of the central committee of the ANNISU-R floated such idea in a bid to make the community schools more responsible to teaching and learning activities, said ANNISU-R Vice-Chairman Jagrit Rayamajhi.
Similarly, public hearings would be conducted regarding poor academic performances of the community schools for their weak result in the SLC examinations. Rayamajhi said attempts would be made to improve educational standards of such schools through discussions.
Rayamajhi said that discussions would be held among the stakeholders, educationalists and others too to uplift quality of education in school level.
He said such decisions were taken to make the teachers more responsible to the students keeping in mind the public concerns that teachers are to blame for poor results.
Similarly, professors and university teachers who give more time for the private academic institutions would be banned in the university, Rayamajhi added.
The ANNISU-R said that it would launch a pressure generation programme to improve the quality of education in school level by recruiting fresh human resources through open competition among 500,000 fresh graduates with teaching licenses.
Rayamajhi told RSS that they would exert pressure on the Prime Minister, Ministry of Education and Teachers' Service Commission to recruit the vacant posts for teachers every year like that of the Public Service Commission. The Teachers' Service Commission has not opened vacancy announcement for schoolteachers for 17 years.
