Kathmandu University, School of Arts announces opening of admissions for a Four-Year Bachelor in Media Studies for the Fall Session of 2023.

Highlights of the program:

  1. Bachelor in Media Studies (BMS) consists of all-encompassing courses with scope for concentration in a specialized field such as journalism, radio production, television production and film production, marketing communications, new media, media research and so on.
  2. BMS program is primarily aimed at producing human resources for media organizations, media support services and allied industries such as advertising and public relations, educational institutions, development agencies, IT and other services sectors, moreover, BMS has a very strong theoretical orientation and analytical foundation that prepares the students for higher academic pursuit.
  3. BMS graduates are also empowered with entrepreneurship and management skills required in the field of media and allied industries.
  4. The tracking study of the BMS graduates conducted by the university shows that the department so far has 100% placement record. Our graduates have earned reputation because of their performances and achievements in mainstream news media as well as other diverse fields including film production, show biz international agencies and I/NGO and development agencies. A number of them have become successful young entrepreneurs and some of our graduates have won scholarship for the higher studies in prestigious universities abroad.

The entire course is highly participatory and practice oriented and students are expected to take leadership in field related activities as well as in class discussion.

Eligibility: Applicants must have 10+2 or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized institution with minimum aggregate score of 45 percent or CGPA 2.0 out of 4.

Applicants who have passed Class XI and are waiting for the Class XII results can also apply for a provisional admission. However, they will have to produce the proof of having passed the exam before the commencement of the course.
