Admission Open for MTech AI, MTech IT and Master in Health Informatics - KUSoE

Kathmandu University (KU), School of Engineering, announces the call for applications for admission in some limited seats in the following Master's  Degree Programs for the academic year 2023.

• Master of Technology in Artificial Intelligence
• Master in Health Informatics
• Master of Technology in Information Technology

Eligibility for MTech in AI 

Candidates with a score of at least 50% in aggregate or a CGPA 2.0 out of 4.0 grading system from any recognized institution, and

• Undergraduate in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Computer Application (with honors), or
• Total of at least 16 years of education with a science background, or
• M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related field.

Note: The applicants must have a science background in their PCL/+2 level.

Selection Procedure

Admission Test/ Interview: A written admission test of 1.5 hours will be conducted focusing on core computer subjects. The test would comprise both objective and subjective questions and would weigh 70% of the marks. Only those securing a minimum of 40 marks in the written test would be selected for the interview. Successful candidates passing both the written test and the interview would be selected for admission on the basis of merit list.

Eligibility for MTech in IT

Candidates with a score of at least 50% in aggregate or CGPA 2.0 out of 4.0 grading system from any recognized institution, and

• Undergraduate in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Computer Application (with honors), or
• Total of at least 16 years of education with a science background, or
• M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related field.

Note: The applicants must have a science background in their PCL/+2 level.

• Undergraduate degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, Medical Lab Technology or
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering/Science and Technology/Computer Application
• With a total of at least 16 years of education with a science background, or
• M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related field is considered eligible for admission to the master’s degree program in Health Informatics.

Note: The applicants must have science background in their PCL/+2 level.

Submission of Application

Aspiring eligible candidates are required to duly fill the Online Application Form available at KU Website. In order to complete the application, applicants are required to pay application fee of NRs. 1,500/- (non-refundable) to Nepal Investment Bank Limited, A/C no.: 00501030255547, Account Name: Kathmandu University School of Engineering; and submit copies certificates/transcripts, copies of other documents and photographs as mentioned in the application form checklist by the deadline, to the concerned department, and get the admission test/interview date. Selected candidates after admission test shall be notified for interview. The result of the selected candidates after the interview will be notified for completing the admission process.
